Breast Cancer Detection
What would you say or do if you heard that those who had breast cancer detection done early are the most likely to survive it? You might say that you would be more responsible with your breast self exams and you would be more likely to attend your mammograms, but that is not always the case. Many people say that they will be more responsible with these things; after all, nobody wants to have to deal with cancer and breast cancer is certainly not something that anybody wants to die from. However, a great percentage of middle aged women in the world have never had a mammogram before, and for that reason breast cancer detection awareness is one of the most important parts of creating an effective awareness of breast cancer in general.
One of the best ways of breast cancer detection is breast self exam. This is often shortened to BSE and is only appropriate if you have been properly trained. It is all too easy to get flustered if you attempt a BSE and you know nothing about it, but a proper BSE can be one of the best tools that you have against breast cancer. This is where early breast cancer detection comes into play.
Clinical breast exams are another important method of breast cancer detection. This is a breast exam that is done by your medical professional, and they usually follow the regular BSE if the woman (or man) is to find something abnormal during their self exam. Not all lumps mean cancer, but BSE exams can really help people to get to the doctor when they find something that is suspicious. It is always better to be too wary than to die of breast cancer because you were afraid of overreacting.
Microwave breast cancer detection is also something that people look into, but there are MRI machines that make for great early cancer detectors as well. Early detection of breast cancer can be the difference between life and death, so if you are one of those people who are afraid of the doctor get properly trained in breast self exams so that you know when you should go see one and you should not. There is no substitute for a real clinical breast exam, but BSEs are a great temporary substitute.
