Breast Lumps

Breast lumps are one of those things that every woman fears. You can find pictures of breast lumps or tumors on the web, but it is like the different types of breast lumps don’t' matter. It is one of those things that are bothersome to women; although many women are happy that a breast lump they found is benign, it has to do with the fear of having lumps that women fear so much.

What would you do if you found a lump in your breast? The best thing to do when you find a mysterious breast lump is to make sure that it is not cancerous. The only way to do so is to make an appointment with your primary care physician and schedule a mammogram. A mammogram will either confirm or deny the presence of a lump in your breast, and from there tests must be done to get information on the breast lump, and decide whether or not it is cancerous and must be removed.

Breast lumps re removed through surgery. You have to either have a full mastectomy or the part of the breast with the lump is removed. Either way, finding a lump in your breast is never an easy thing to deal with or breast cancer surgery is something that people are going to need support for. If you have found a lump n your breast and you need support, you should contact the American Cancer Society or one of the other various cancer organizations. They can put you in touch with a breast cancer support group that can help you to get through the very difficult time in your life that breast cancer can present.

Having a lump in your breast is not always a superficial thing. Even if they are benign, breast lumps can be painful and that is not a good thing. Nobody wants to live in pain, so if you are experiencing a painful lump in your breast or a breast lump that moves you are going to have to do something about it whether it is cancerous or not.

Once again, breast lumps are not something that is ever easy to deal with but it is not difficult to find support, if you know where to look. Finding a lump in your breast can be a scary thing, and it can also be a scary thing to have to go through breast cancer surgery or even benign lump surgery
