BSE

Breast cancer awareness has become a bigger issue than it ever has been before as of late, and the reason why is that there are various cancer organizations out there that are that are doing their best to educate women and men all around the United States about the dangers of breast cancer and the importance of BSE exams and proper breast cancer screenings.

BSE is an abrevation stands for breast self examination. Like the title says, a BSE is the self examination of your own breast for suspicious lumps or anything else, similar to an examination that your physician might give you. Self breast examination is not one of those things that you can rely on to help you diagnose whether or not you have breast cancer, but it can be a good indicator of whether or not you have something to worry about.

If you do not know how to perform a BSE or self breast examination, you probably want to talk to your doctor about it more extensively. While it is always a good idea to make sure that you are properly protected by having a doctor do a clinical breast examination on you, it is also important to be aware enough of your own body to make sure that you can do a self examination of your own breast. A self examination for breast cancer gives you power over your own diagnosis and are a good way to hold yourself responsible for your own health. In general, breast self examination can be taught by your physician or even by looking at one of the many breast self examination videos available on the web or through your doctor's office.

No matter who you are or what your personal risk for breast cancer is, it is important to take as good a care of your body as you can, and a great deal of that has to do with knowing how to perform a breast self examination. Without knowing how to do a proper BSE there is no way that you can know what to look for in your own breasts as far as strange lumps and other things go, as there is a great deal of mass in the breast that can feel suspicious that is supposed to be there. Only a proper clinical examination and a once over with a BSE on your part can tell for sure, but be trained in the process before you hurt yourself or freak out over a false diagnosis.
