Genetic
Just about every woman in the world has some risk of getting breast cancer, but unfortunately those with a genetic predisposition have almost double the chance of getting the disease. Genetics are good for some stuff and bad for others; your beautiful eyes, the straight teeth, the clear skin—all of these things are a matter of genetics but what about those bad genetics that you just can't seem to get right? Unfortunately, some of these bad genetics are leading to your chances of getting breast cancer and although most of the women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer have no known family history of getting breast cancer, a great deal of the women who are diagnosed with breast cancer do have some history of the disease in their family.
Does this mean that if you have breast cancer in your family you should begin to panic? That wouldn't be the smartest thing to do, but it would probably be a good idea to start changing your lifestyle right now to decrease your likelihood of getting the disease. Breast cancer genetics just have some type of link to familial breast cancer and it is not an automatic death sentence, but you can do some things to help decrease your chances of getting the disease.
First of all, you can weaken the genetic link to breast cancer by changing the way that you eat. Eating a diet high in fat content increases your likelihood of getting breast cancer by a great deal and so it is important to make sure that you eat thinks high in antioxidants and low in fat. Think fruits and vegetables that are brightly colored and ripe, and organic fruits and vegetables always work best due to the low to no content of pesticides involved.
In addition, if you have the breast cancer gene in your family you can weaken the link by getting in some extra exercise. Walk your dog at night; take a walk around the block every now and again or ride your bike down by the river. You might be surprised at how much better you look and feel outside of the fact that you will have decreased your chances of getting breast cancer.
The link between family history and the breast cancer gene does not mean that you will automatically have to deal with the disease. All it means is that you have a heads up, and other people do not. Take it to mean a good thing, and take steps to change your life.
