HRT

HRT, or hormone replacement therapy, is a controversial treatment that women use to replace some of the hormones that are lost after significant medical events have caused the loss. While it is a recommended treatment for women under many conditions by medical professionals all across the United States, HRT is very controversial. In some women with some different family histories attributed to them, HRT has been known to be directly linked to some types of cancer but as far as firm facts on this, there are none.

There are many different types of and forms of HRT that many people neglect to learn anything about. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and natural hormone replacement therapy are two of the various types of HRT out there, and it certainly does not stop there. There is hormone replacement therapy for men and many of the medical professionals even use natural hormone replacement therapy dosage software that helps to regulate the amount of hormone that is actually injected into a patient, so it is not always up to the hands of medical professionals to administer HRT therapy.

Why is there such a controversy surrounding HRT and different types of hormone replacement therapy? It is simple; the fact that it has been somewhat linked to cancer, however vague that link may be, is enough to deter many women from seeking that avenue of treatment. One in every thirteen women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and for those who have a history of breast cancer in their family history; the risk is almost doubled to one in every eight women. Who in their right mind would want to increase the risk of getting breast cancer any more?

There are issues surrounding the studies that have been done on HRT and breast cancer, like the way that the studies were done. Many people say that the only people surveyed were those on HRT therapy as it was, and many other people say that the trials that were done did not take an appropriate population count, therefore directly affecting the quality of the results from such a study. Whether or not these accusations are true remains to be seen, but until then many medical professionals are becoming extra cautious about the amount of HRT that is administered, whether it is alternative hormone replacement in males or females, in Texas or California.
