Smoking Risks
The risks of smoking are endless. There are so many health risks of smoking that it is surprising anybody does it, but needless to say smoking cigarettes is an addiction that has gripped America and it certainly seems to have its claws in deep. Depending on whom you are and how long you have been smoking, the risks may vary from person to person so it is important to quit if you can. For those out there who do not smoke, smoking has absolutely no health benefits and it can cause cosmetic problems as well, so if it can at all be avoided (which of course it can) never start smoking; if you are already a smoker, know that there are a variety of resources out there for people who want to stop.
Health risks of smoking crack are definitely a whole other subject, but it just goes to show that smoking anything is certainly an unhealthy thing to do. Whoever thought of lighting something up and inhaling the smoke into your lungs certainly made a big mistake, as smoking now increases the risk of cancer, heart attacks, strokes, blood clots, and other things. It can make for low birth weight in babies for women who smoke or have smoked, but quitting can make all of the difference in the world.
Sadly enough, smoking is even more of a problem with health when it comes to women. Women are already at a higher risk for many illnesses, but they also are at a higher risk for diseases that are directly attributed to smoking and the carcinogens in cigarettes, like cancer.
Smoking risks are certainly a scary thing, but that is all the more reason and motivation for smokers to quit the nasty, unhealthy habit that they have somehow picked up. For example, it is a known fact that smokers who have reformed their habits can repair their body to as close to the previous state as possible. Those who quit smoking can drastically educe their chances of having to deal with illnesses like the flu and bronchitis, but they can also avoid more serious problems like lung cancer and heart problems as well.
If you are a smoker, consider the health risks of smoking right now and quite possibly save your own life, perhaps even that of your unborn child. Smoking is a nasty habit, but it is one that you can kick, and you can help those you love to stop smoking as well.
